VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City DECA advisor Sheila Larson said nine VCSH DECA members traveled to Atlanta, GA on April 22nd to compete at the DECA International Career and Development Conference (ICDC). Students qualified for ICDC at the ND DECA State Career and Development Conference in March. VCHS students who competed at DECA ICDC were Rachel Beierle, McKenzie Current, Maggie Dockter, Emily Klein, Amber Knutson, Brinklyn Johnson, Braxton Jorissen, Morgyn Maine, and Halley Thoreson. These students prepared projects and presentations in the areas of marketing, finance, hospitality, and management and competed against over 17,000 DECA members from across the world.

Larson said many VCHS DECA members were recognized at the conference. Maggie Dockter, Amber Knutson and Brinklyn Johnson were recognized for an outstanding performance in their presentation of a proposed marketing campaign. McKenzie Current and Emily Klein were also recognized for placing in the top 30% in their respective events: Community Awareness and Business Solutions. VCHS DECA Advisor,
