Donald “Don” Paul, of Edgeley, ND, passed away on May 6, 2022 at his home.

He was born in Detroit, MI on December 10, 1936 to LeRoy and Vera (Steinway) Paul. Don always considered himself fortunate to have had his elementary and most of high school education at the Greenfield Village School sponsored by Henry Ford. It sparked his lifelong joy in being creative.

After college, he had several interesting jobs including working at a Worlds Fair in New York. Through the years, he had a diesel repair shop in the Bahamas, was a lobster fisherman, and worked in the early field of computers.

Some of his happiest times were spent living in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. There he met and married Theresa Wegenast and they had 40 years of adventure and loving time!

In 1989 they moved to Edgeley, where Don brilliantly restored a 1928 motor home, “Gypsie”. She became a feature at Art Shows. He also began making metal sculptures and jewelry which he loved so much.

Donald is survived by his wife, Theresa, daughter, Annabel (Harry) Schwartz, two granddaughters, Lapage Jordan and Ariana Schwartz, his sister, Joanne Shipp, nephew, Casey (Lauren) Ginder, mother-in-law, Karolina Wegenast, sisters-in-law: Clara Sylvester, Patty Holt, Boni (Kit Dohrman) Wegenast, nephews: Adam Sylvester and family, Joel Sylvester and family, Paul Sylvester, and niece, Amy (Geordie) Robb. We will all miss his energy and love of life.

No services will be held at this time.

Arrangements are in the care of Williams Funeral Home.
