JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School baseball and softball teams picked up six combined wins over the weekend as the spring sports season starts to wind towards a close.

BASEBALL: G1 – JAMESTOWN 10, WATFORD CITY 0 (5 inn.)| G2 – JAMESTOWN 11, WATFORD CITY 0 (5 inn.)

Payton Hochhalter tossed a no-hitter in game one and Jackson Walters allowed just one hit in game two as the Blue Jays swept Watford City over the weekend. Jamestown’s Carson Orr was 4-for-4 in game one with three runs driven in as the Jays collected 11 total hits in game one. During the second game, Jamestown capitalized on five Watford City errors to take both games by mercy rule. Ethan Gall went 1-for-1 in game two with a pair of runs driven in. Jamestown (6-4, 6-4) travels to Mandan on Tuesday.

SOFTBALL WINS FOUR NON-CONFERENCE GAMES OVER MINNESOTA TEAMS

The Blue Jay softball team dominated against Minnesota competition over the weekend as Jamestown won four games in Little Falls, MN. Jamestown won 16-0 over host Little Falls in game one Friday before winning 11-2 over Bemidji in the second game of the day. On Saturday, the Jays beat Eden Valley 13-2 before beating host Little Falls once again, this time 12-3. The four wins this weekend for the Jays improve their overall record to 14-6 on the season. Jamestown is 10-4 in the West Region and will be at Minot on Tuesday.
