JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In April, it was reported that the Jamestown Public School Board was seeing lower than average Kindergarten registrations compared to previous years.
Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech says since then, they’ve sent additional requests and have seen improvements to those numbers.
Dr. Lech says at this time, it’s prudent to continue to engage with the community and advocate for incoming Kindergarten students to be registered as soon as possible.
He added the number of District-level registrations in Kindergarten will ultimately determine the number of sections they have. Building-level registrations will be a primary factor when determining placement of sections if it’s below 8.
He stated it may be in the board’s best interest to consider redrawing district lines to create more equity.
