JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – One man is in custody following an investigation into several burglaries and the unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.
Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Alexander Michael Emmons of Jamestown. Emmons was arrested on suspicion of 2 counts of Burglary and 4 counts of Unlawful Entry into a Motor.
On May 2nd at around 7:48 AM, the Jamestown Police Department received a report of a vehicle that had been broken into sometime overnight in the 1500 block of 5 Ave SW. An officer responded to investigate the report. While taking the initial report, a neighbor in the same area reported their vehicle and garage had also been broken into overnight.
Several items were stolen from the vehicles and garage. This area is within a several block radius of southwest Jamestown which has had a total of 5 burglaries and 7 vehicles broken into since April 26,2022. There were several similarities in all the cases.
The suspect resides in southwest Jamestown, where these crimes were being committed. Officers were able to place the suspect in the 1500 block of 5 Ave SW at the time the crimes were being committed on May 2, 2022. The suspect was located, and a probation search of his residence was conducted. During the search, several items were in the suspect’s possession which had been reported stole during some of the previously reported burglaries and car break-ins.
