Duane Haga, Valley City, North Dakota passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 at the age of 92 at SMP Health – St. Raphael, Valley City under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday May 6 at Grace Free Lutheran Church, Valley City.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.  Burial will be at Memory Gardens, Valley City.

Duane Donald Haga was born May 7, 1929 to Rangvald and Signe (Lofquist) Haga at the Valley City Hospital.

Duane attended schools in Alta and Noltimier Townships in Barnes County, North Dakota.  He joined the Army National Guard and went on to serve in the US Army.  After, he joined with his folks purchasing a farmstead in Grand Prairie Township, North Dakota.  He married Anna Jane Dahl of rural Park River in 1958.

Duane was Grand Prairie’s assessor for several years and was on the Barnes Rural Water Board when it first started.

Duane was ready to go to church and get his family there every Sunday when possible.  He was a member of Grace Free Lutheran Church, Valley City.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and visiting with family and neighbors.

Duane is survived by his wife, Anna Jane; children, Wayne (Iwona) Haga, Harold Haga, Suzie Haga and his grandchildren, Molly, Sammy and Abigail.

Duane was preceded in death by his siblings June Phillips, Howard Haga, Randall Haga, Karl Haga and April Haga.
