FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakota’s acting US Attorney and a district judge in Jamestown are among the finalists for an open district judgeship in Fargo.
The judicial nominating committee sent the names of four applicants to Governor Doug Burgum, who has conducted interviews. The person selected would replace East Central District Judge Thomas Olson who is retiring for health reasons.
Acting US attorney Nick Chase, Southeast Judicial District Judge Cherie Clark, Fargo Attorney Monty Mertz, and East Central District Court Judicial Referee Stephanie Hayden are the finalists.
A spokesman for Governor Burgum says he expects an announcement on the vacancy by the end of the week.
