JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Mark Stilwell has been hired to assume the Jamestown Middle School Principal role.
The Jamestown Public School Board made the recommendation during a special meeting Tuesday, April 26th. Stilwell will take the position which will be vacated by current Principal Ryan Harty at the end of the school year.
“It has been an honor and privilege to serve as the principal at the same school I attended as a child for the past 8 years,” Harty told NewsDakota. “The culture created by the students and staff is simply fantastic. We pride ourselves on creating a warm and welcoming environment where students feel safe and are eager and excited to learn.”
Harty says he will remain a part of the community with a role at Dacotah Bank. He had high praise for Mr. Stilwell in his ability to take over the position.
“[He] is extremely passionate about education and the success of the students and staff at JMS,” Harty stated. “He will be able to continue to grow and enhance the culture and environment already created at Jamestown Middle School in his new role as principal.”
Stilwell told NewsDakota that he’s ready to take on the Principal position at the Middle School.
“I look forward to the opportunity and challenge to promote the continued growth of our students, staff and district,” he stated.
The school board will now be tasked with hiring an assistant principal. Here’s Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech.
