JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department was called to Eventide in Northeast Jamestown Monday morning to a fire.

Fire Chief Jim Reuther reports they were dispatched at 11:53 AM to the fire at 1300 2nd Pl NE.

“A fire was reported in one of the wings,” Chief Reuther stated. “The fire was out on arrival. Eventide employees evacuated residents for safety.”

Chief Reuther says the fire was traced to a microwave in one of the resident’s rooms, where a towel had been placed inside and caught fire. No injuries were reported.

“Jamestown Police were on scene and assisted with the evacuation and traffic control,” Chief Reuther added. “Eventide employees did a great job evacuating residents for their safety.”

23 firefighters and six trucks responded to the incident.
