JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A recent report released by the Stutsman County State’s Attorney Office found there was insufficient evidence to charge Mayor Dwaine Heinrich with sexual assault.

Mayor Heinrich says the report fully shows that he did not commit a sexual assault on January 29th.

Heinrich added he had some concerns with the final report.

He says there were three things he had hoped would come from the investigation that includes finding no evidence of a sexual assault.

While he doesn’t fully agree with the terminology of “insufficient” evidence as opposed to “no evidence”, he added there were two things not addressed in the report.

Mayor Heinrich says cases like this sway an individual’s decision to run for local office and he asks those investigating to look further into the incident.
