VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A Blizzard Warning for western and central North Dakota and Winter Storm Watch for extreme eastern North Dakota Tuesday, April 12th into Thursday, April 14th.
According to the National Weather Service travel will be nearly impossible at times across the Devils Lake basin with near zero visibility, snowfall rates of 1 inch per hour and wind gusting up to 45 mph at times creating significant snow accumulations and significant drifting.
There will be a brief lull in snowfall and stronger winds on Wednesday, April 13th before additional snowfall and windy conditions arrive for Thursday, April 14th. Snow and rain will affect river levels, but to what degree and location is unknown at this time.
18 to 22 inches of heavy wet snow possible in Landgon, Cando, Devils Lake and New Rockford, ND. Lesser amounts in eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota.
