VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Saturday, April 9th, the Valley City High School Speech Team earned their 5th consecutive State Championship. The Hi-Liners placed 1st as a team with 148 points, followed by West Fargo Sheyenne in 2nd with 93 points, Jamestown in 3rd with 76 points, West Fargo Horace in 4th with 42 points, and St. Mary’s in 5th with 35 points. Overall, VCHS had 6 individual event State Champions out of 14 total events, and 13 out of 36 team entries placed in the top 3. Out of those 36 total state qualifying team entries, 23 entries individually placed at the State tournament. Additionally, the following five VCHS Students earned All-State accolades: Jerrica Eldridge, Brinklyn Johnson, Madi Klabo, Emmy Jones, and Abby Redfearn.

To add to an already exciting day, VCPS Superintendent, Josh Johnson, was able to present the team with their 2022 State Championship plaque.
