NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals scored four runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back as they roll past the Black Sox of Sheyenne/New Rockford 8-4 Monday afternoon in Region 3 High School Baseball. Carrington is now 2-0 overall and 2-0 in Region 3, SNR drops to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in Region 3.

Noah Paulson and Owen Hagel had two hits each for Carrington, Paulson knocked in one run. Connor Knatterud, Nic Berglund and Koby Duda had two hits each for SNR, Duda and Berglund one RBI each.

Senior Lucas Hendrickson picks up the victory on the mound, working five innings, 94 pitches, four runs, nine strikeouts, six hits and two walks. Hudson Schmitz worked the last two innings, no runs and three strikeouts. Koby Duda suffers the loss, working two innings, five runs and five strikeouts. Haydon Meier faced two batters in the third inning and walked both of them. Nic Berglund came in and worked the last five innings, he threw 79 pitches, 10 SO’s, four hits and three walks.

Next up for Carrington will be Thursday, April 14th in Steele to take on Kidder County. Weather permitting, KDAK AM 1600/FM 100.1 and newsdakota.com will have the game starting at 430pm.
