JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Rural Fire Department is looking to replace a 35 year-old pumper truck.
At the Stutsman County Commission meeting, JRFD Fire Chief Brian Paulson says they operate in a five-year action plan and have been planning for some time to purchase a new pumper truck.
The estimated cost of the truck sits at around $690,000 and is designed specifically for needs and purposes of responding to commercial facilities that the JRFD serves. Chief Paulson inquired into ARPA funding to help purchase their new truck.
Chief Paulson says he would also like to address the service of County-owned property and the service the JRFD provides.
One of these properties that fall in their jurisdiction is the Spiritwood Energy Park Association.
Chief Paulson says he would like to sit down with commissioners and see what kind of funding can be generated for the Jamestown Rural Fire District.
He added the JRFD is aware of the significant financial investment in SEPA and it’s a top priority of theirs to protect that investment and be able to respond with appropriate equipment.
Chief Paulson added they were seeking guidance and assistance in making connections with partners like Great River Energy or others for corporate sponsorships to support their district.
