VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NDHP) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) said alcohol and speed led to a rollover east of Valley City near a railroad bridge on Tuesday, March 29th around 7:30am.

The Highway Patrol said a 19 year-old male driver from Valley City was traveling east bound at an excessive speed on a gravel roadway in a 1992 Chevrolet pickup. The driver lost control and entered the south ditch of 118th Ave SE. The pickup overturned and came to rest on its driver side.

The driver was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

All three passengers were transported by ambulance to CHI Mercy Hospital in Valley City for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Barnes County Sheriff’s Deputies and Valley City Police officers assisted the Highway Patrol at the crash scene along with the Barnes County Ambulance.
