choralaires-2018

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Choralaires will end their 2021-2022 concert season with two shows on April 8th & 9th at the Jamestown High School.

The Choralaires have been singing and performing in Jamestown and the surrounding region since 1955.

Member Kevin Walker says in that time, many have joined and performed with them.

Directed by Pam Burkhardt and accompanied by Dr. Richard Walentine, the men’s group has delighted many with their hymns, traditional, and contemporary pieces. Walker says their concerts on April 8th & 9th will also feature the Jamestown High School young men.

Walker says another thing the Chorlaires participate in is The Big Sing, a large gathering of other men’s choirs that switches locations every year. The next Big Sing will be held in Eau Claire, WI this summer, but will return to Jamestown in 2023.

After a break, Walker says they will begin meeting and practicing again after Labor Day each Wednesday at the Jamestown Middle School. He says anyone is welcome to join the Choralaires and they welcome new members.

Tickets for their spring concert is $12 for adults, $5 for students K-12. They’ll be available at Looysen I Care, the Dakota Store, any Choralaires member, and at the door.
