HALLIDAY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – With comparisons of Adele and Amy Winehouse, North Dakota native Chloe Fredericks is sure to dazzle her national audience when she premieres on NBC’s newest vocal competition “American Song Contest.”
Fredericks is originally from Halliday, North Dakota and grew up listening to some of country music’s greatest artists. Her mom would always call her “little singing birdy” and some of her fondest memories are singing alongside her dad.
She says she got an offer to be on the show after making some connections in California.
She says the ability to represent her home state is an honor and she welcomes the opportunity and challenge.
While it’s a competition for the best song in the U.S., Fredericks says it’s also appreciating what every state has to offer. She says the most pressure was deciding what song to write, ultimately deciding on one she’s spent the last two years writing.
At the end of the evening, one artist will be selected by a national jury of music industry experts to automatically advance to the Semi-Finals. Then, America’s votes will help decide which three additional artists will advance.
Fredericks will debut her song in the contest on NBC at 8 PM ET/ 7 PM CT on Monday, March 28th.
