VALLEY CITY, N.D. (VCSUAthletics.com) – Valley City State University’s Avery Bennefeld and Joelle Aiello have been selected as this week’s Farmers Union Insurance Featured Vikings.

Avery Bennefeld – Sophomore – Valley City, N.D. – Baseball 
A native of Valley City, North Dakota, Avery Bennefeld‘s offensive presence helped VCSU baseball to a 5-2 record while in Tucson. Bennefeld batted a team-best .571 (12-21) over VCSU’s 7-game trip. Throughout the week, the sophomore racked up 4 doubles, 7 RBIs, and 7 runs. Bennefeld finished the trip with a .679 on-base percentage.

Joelle Aiello – Senior – Napa, Calif. – Softball 
Joelle Aiello found success at bat as VCSU softball went 6-5 during their spring trip to Tucson. Over 11 games Aiello hit two home runs and drove in a team-high 12 RBIs. The senior infielder scored 7 runs and batted .294 over the week. Aiello surpassed 250 career hits while in Arizona and is currently VCSU’s all-time leader with 253 career hits.
