CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Roughly 20 dairy producers and family members attended a Midwest Dairy meeting in Carrington on Tuesday, March 22nd.
The meeting welcomed producers in Districts 2 and 3, or central and eastern North Dakota, to discuss dairy checkoff and tour Cows and Co. Creamery in Carrington.
Char Herr is the Manager of Programs and Partnerships for Midwest Dairy. She says they work with product research, education, and promotion.
Herr says with around 50 dairy families in North Dakota, a good percentage were expected at the Carrington meeting. She says they attempt to meet yearly to discuss where dairy checkoff funds are going and the latest information.
She says Cows and Co. Creamery is a great facility to hold meetings like this.
Midwest Dairy represents a 10-state region and partners with schools for equipment, retail for store signage, and food service with multiple businesses.
She says she appreciates how hard dairy farmers continue to work to keep the business sustainable.
