OLATHE, Kan. (jimmiepride.com)– The University of Jamestown women’s golf team finished in fifth place at the Baker University Invite, which concluded Tuesday at Prairie Highlands Golf Club.

Jamestown shot a second round score of 361 to finish with a two-day total of 136-over 712 (351-361). William Woods (Mo.) University was first at 82-over 658 (340-318).

Izzy Marchino (SR/Highlands Ranch, Colo.) was the top placer for the Jimmies, tying for sixth at 25-over 169 (83-86). Coley Olson (SO/Cook, Minn.) was 16th at 34-over 178 (92-86), Kyra Vogel (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) tied for 17th at 37-over 181 (88-93), Faith Justesen (SO/Hawley, Minn.) tied for 23rd at 40-over 184 (88-96), and Jayme Carlson (JR/Hartford, S.D.) 35th at 57-over 201 (105-96).

“We saw some good things this week,” said UJ head coach Zach Hale. “Unfortunately we did not show what we are capable of. We will need to work hard in practice and get ready to bounce back next week at our ‘home’ tournament in Iowa.”

The Jimmies will be the host team for the Jimmie Spring Swing at Ames Golf & Country Club in Ames, Iowa, on Monday and Tuesday.
