MINOT, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Lamoure/Litchville/Marion Loboes led at one point midway through the second quarter 28-8, but the Spoilers slowly chipped away at the lead and eventually came within one point in the fourth quarter.
But some key free throws by LLM kept them in the lead and they survive with a one point victory 52-51. The Loboes improve to 23-3 overall and Grafton falls to 18-9 overall.
LLM led 52-49 with about 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Grafton would miss three opportunities to tie and would hit a field goal on the fourth attempt, but it was only a 2-pointer as time expired.
Leading the way for LLM was Sophomore Max Musland with 19 points, including three 3-pointers in the second quarter and 6-of-7 at the free throw line in the fourth quarter. Colton Ness added 16. Grafton was led by Senior Will Jiskra with a double-double, 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Next up for No. 4 seeded LLM will be Friday night against No. 1 seed and undefeated (25-0) Four Winds/Minnewaukan in the semifinals, Q101, KDDR AM1220/FM 100.3 and newsdakota.com will have the game starting about 8pm pregame.
