JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There’s been a string of vehicle break-ins reported in Jamestown.
The Jamestown Police Department says on Tuesday morning, they had several reports of vehicles being broken into and items being stolen. The string of thefts occurred in the area of Deer Ridge and south of there toward 14th, 15th, and 16th Ave NE.
“According to one individual, there was motion in the area around 3am,” the department added.
“There are many doorbell cameras in this area and several residents were requested to check them for any suspicious activity through the night. If you have any cameras or doorbell cameras in this area and haven’t spoken to you directly, we would ask that you please check them and see if they caught anyone looking through vehicles or walking around your neighborhood during the night.”
Police add it’s believed these incidents occur because property or valuables are left in visible site in the car.
“This is a good reminder to not only lock your property but to also not leave valuables in open sight,” the department says.
If you have any information on the vehicle break-ins from Monday night, you’re asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department.
