VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Rep. Dwight Kiefert announced that he will be running for re-election in 2022. Kiefert was first elected in 2012. He was re-elected in 2020 and is up for election again in 2022 due to redistricting.

The following is a news release on behalf of District 24 Republican Representative Dwight Kiefert.

“Representative Kiefert is a lifelong resident of District 24. Along with his wife Robbin, of 43 years, they have been active in farming and agribusiness their entire life. They currently are farming south of Valley City raising small grains and providing custom planting and harvesting services to area farmers.

Dwight has served on the Agriculture and Human Services Committees. His dedication and voting record have earned him the Chamber Champion award for supporting our state’s business community. Throughout his legislative career, Dwight’s has worked to help North Dakota businesses to be competitive both nationally and globally.

Dwight’s strong support in the area of family values earned him a 100% score from the Family Policy Alliance of North Dakota. He has also been endorsed by the North Dakota Right to Life.

Dwight’s is a strong supporter of our Second Amendment rights. His voting record has gained him the support and endorsement of the National Rifle Association.

Dwight has always kept the people of his district first in his representation. If you call him, he will do whatever he can to help you.

Dwight said he will not be seeking the endorsement of the local District 24 Republican party. He cannot support most of the leadership’s decision to be part of an anti-government Libertarian movement that is attempting to take control of our State Legislature. When he goes to Bismarck, it’s to represent the people of District 24, not to follow some national movement. He will instead gather signatures to be placed on the June 14th Primary ballot and let the people of our district decide who they want on the ballot.”

“I became active in the Legislature to preserve what we enjoy in our State for future generations,” said Kiefert. “My pledge is to faithfully continue representing our district as my voting record displays.”
