JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Aging facilities and controlling costs continue to be challenging for the North Dakota State Hospital.
Director of Facilities Management Matt Sheppard provided the latest information during the North Dakota State Hospital Governing Board meeting Monday and says they’re continuing to provide a safe, clean, and maintained environment for clients, visitors, and staff to the campus.
Sheppard says some projects over the last year they’ve worked on include a new boiler, secondary water main, and more. He says in 2021, they completed 6,306 work orders; 5,241 preventative maintenance and 1,065 work requests.
With that, Sheppard says they have continued challenges they face moving ahead.
He added that client work experience and JRCC resident work experience has also steadily decreased.
Looking forward, Sheppard says they are continuing to assist with the hospital study and master plan, exploring and expanding client work opportunities, and continuing efforts to remove obsolete structures on the campus.
