VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series Season 21 Presents: Dr. Jacob Glower (NDSU) “Analyzing Climate Data, It’s not just for experts.” 7PM Thursday, March 17th at the Barnes County Museum. 315 Central Ave N, Valley City, ND.

One of the benefits of the internet is data is freely available to anyone and everyone to analyze on their own. In this presentation, data sets from several government sites are presented which relate to Arctic ice levels, global CO2 levels, and global temperatures. Trending analysis is then used to show where we’re heading and how long it will take to get there. By doing so, we no longer need to rely on experts or news channels to tell us what is happening: anyone and everyone can look at the data themselves and see where we’re heading.

Dr. Jacob Glower received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University, in 1988. After graduation, he gained industrial experience working at GE Aircraft Engines, Fisher Controls, and McDonnell Douglas. For the past 31 years, Dr. Glower has served in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North Dakota State University where he currently holds the rank of Full Professor. Over this time, Dr. Glower has taught over 23 different courses including Circuits, Electronics, Power Systems, Robotics, Controls Systems, and Random Processes. Dr. Glower has authored nine textbooks that are hosted on his website, Bison Academy, which receives over 700,000 hits a year from students and alumni across the country and across the world. The public is cordially invited.

Please notice this is a change from Dr. Gary Krapu’s presentation that has been moved to April 28th.

All Lectures are at the Barnes County Historical Society Museum and held in conjunction with Valley City State University. They are free and open to the public.
