Joseph (Joe) Schlosser born October 23, 1925, to Frank and Magdelena Feist Schlosser in Kintyre, ND, Logan county, Weigel township, passed away March 6, 2022, at 96 years of age.  Baptized October 24, 1925, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Kintyre, ND.

The family purchased a farm in LaMoure County, in Glenmore Township in Edgeley, ND vicinity in the 1930’s.  He attended Glenmore Consolidated School all eight grades.  The transportation was a team of horses and a wagon for his siblings and some neighbor families the five miles to school.

In 1945 he enlisted in the Marine Corps at Camp Pendelton, CA.  Served in the Pacific area and was honorably discharged in 1949.

He married Neldamae Kalmbach in Edgeley Transfiguration Catholic Church June 17, 1953 and started farming in the Edgeley vicinity.  They purchased their farm in Ray Township in 1957.

He and his family of eight were dairy farmers until his retirement. During his earlier years he was employed by LaMoure County Gravel Crew, the LaMoure County Soil Conservation and built dams, ditches, and stock ponds. He helped construct the brick arches at the entrance to Calvary Cemetery as well as the Edgeley Swimming pool.  He also helped with the construction of the Super 8 in Edgeley.  He worked with James Valley Cooperative, now known as Dakota Valley Electric and then by Direct Electric.  He was employed by the LaMoure County Weed control.  He did lawn care and garden tilling for several years after he retired.  And stilled mowed his lawn in his 95th year.

He and his wife had many years enjoying square dancing and meeting many friends.  They went to Nashville to the Grand Ole Opry to a square dance convention.  Enroute to the convention they spent a layover in Chicago at the Ohara Airport where they danced a few rounds there.

He and his wife also had the opportunity to join in the Honor Flight to Washington, DC in November of 2008.

He survived by eight children, two sons and six daughters.  David (Pat), Edgeley, Debra (Marvin) Aberle, Beulah, ND, Doreen (Jerome) Aberle, Berlin, ND, Ramona (Dan) Wiest, Jamestown, ND, Bryan (Esther), Edgeley, Brenda (John) Madden, Union Center, WI, Sheila (Jerry) Buranen, Princeton, MN, Nichole (Christopher) Kleven, Clifford, ND.  Nineteen grandchildren Andrea Drenth, William (Bill) Schlosser, Tasha Schlosser, Tonya Unruh, Blaise Aberle, Aaron Aberle, Amanda Goodman, Jeremy Aberle, Jennifer Schramm, Casandra Aberle, Dakota Schlosser, Casimer Schlosser, Bridgett Madden, Jonathan Madden, Austin Peterson, Justin Peterson, Ashley Kyllonen, Elizabeth Kleven, and Jakob Kleven. Twenty three great grandchildren.  Also survived by one brother Valentine Schlosser, brother in law Tony Wald and sister in law Constance Schlosser.  He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers Raymond, Peter, Sebastian, Casimer, Aloysius, Frank, Baltzer and Leo and nine sisters Rosina, Dorothy, Catherine, Magdelena, Helen, Wilhelmenia, Agatha, Caroline and Mary and son in law Jerome Aberle.

Visitation: 4PM – 7PM, Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley.

Prayer Service: 7PM, Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley with Father Jake Miller to officiate.

Funeral Service: 10AM, Friday, March 11, 2022 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, with Father Jake Miller to officiate.

Spring Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
