Donette Rae Klever, 74, Fargo, North Dakota passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Sanford on Broadway, Fargo.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Lutheran Church of the Cross West Fargo.  Visitation will be held one hour prior. Donette has bequested her body to the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in hopes of finding a cure for polycystic kidney disease. Inurnment will be at a later date at Memory Gardens, Valley City.

Donette was born July 12, 1947 in Valley City, North Dakota to Raymond and Cora (Leidall) Justesen.  She always told people she was the left handed – middle child.  Donette graduated from Litchville High School in 1965 and began working for Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis, Minnesota that same year.

In 1968, Donette married Harry Lee Klever in LaMoure, North Dakota.  They resided in rural LaMoure where their three children were born and raised.

Besides being a farm wife and mother, Donette worked for LaMoure County Social Services, was Township Clerk and was active in the Presbyterian Church.   Donette retired from Social Services in 2012 after 40 years.  During her career she was honored to be named North Dakota State Eligibility Worker of the Year.   Donette was an avid bowler and loved any kind of card game, reading, puzzles, baking and could occasionally be found at a casino.

In 2010, Donette reunited with her childhood friend, Les Krenz, and together they resided in Marion, North Dakota where she helped Les with his lawn care service.   She was on the LaMoure County Museum Board, The LaMoure County Food Pantry Board, The Litchville Museum Board and the Litchville All School Reunion Board and Secretary of the Marion Lutheran WELCA.

Les passed away in 2019 and Donette moved to Fargo to be closer to her doctor.

Donette is survived by her children, Kari and her daughter Alexandra from Florida, son Todd from Ellendale, North Dakota and her daughter Alyssa and her children Aidan and Grace from West Fargo, North Dakota.  Donette is also survived by her brother Gary and his wife Nancy, her sister Vicky and her husband Bob along with several nieces and nephews.
