JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Fees will be implemented for the summer MOST program at Washington Elementary School this summer.
Jamestown Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech states that they are currently in the process of planning out their typical summer school schedule including the elementary, middle school, and high school levels.
Dr. Lech says a flat rate will be set for the MOST program from June 6th through June 29th to adjust for the missing grant. He added that the Department of Public Instruction has also decreased financial support for the program.
The Southeast Education Cooperative (SEEC) runs the program and expects around 130 students this summer.
Darby Heinert is also working on a grant to fund a summer Aviation Camp through the North Dakota Center for Technical Education (NDCTE).
In other information, Dr. Lech says the primary design for facility projects and summer maintenance updates are complete. A pre-bid walkthrough for bidders was held at Gussner Elementary on February 28th and will be conducted at the Jamestown Middle School March 9th.
Summer maintenance projects planning is also underway.
Discussion regarding Trapper Field Lights and funding was also held with Amy Walters, Parks and Recreation Director. You can find more in the meeting video below, courtesy of Jamestown Video.
