BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown fell behind early in the first half and never fully recovered as the Blue Jays fell 75-62 to Dickinson in a loser-out game in the West Region Tournament.

Dickinson took a big lead on the Jays in the first half, cruising to a 47-21 advantage at the halftime break. In the second half, the Midgets went in front by as many as 29 points before Jamestown finally woke up with their season on the line. The Blue Jays stormed back, cutting the Dickinson lead down to six points with under two minutes to go, but the Midgets converted at the free throw line late to put an end to Jamestown’s season.

The Blue Jays were led in scoring by senior Adam Kallenbach who put up 24 points and had six rebounds. After the game, Kallenbach was recognized as All-WDA for the 2022 season. Luke Van Berkom had a monster game on the glass, grabbing 16 rebounds and scoring 12 points for his second double-double of the tournament. Junior Mason Lunzman finished with 13 points, going 5-of-9 from the field. Jamestown was held to just 15% shooting from long range.

Jamestown’s season comes to an end with an overall record of 11-13 on the season. The Blue Jays graduate Kallenbach, Van Berkom, Devin Beach, and Preston Kroeber, four players who had a major impact on the Jamestown basketball program.
