VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The city of Valley City is reminding residents to recycle their cardboard and not place it into garbage dumpsters or in their weekly residential pickup containers.
City Commissioner Jeff Erickson said the city will soon be forced to fine residents and businesses that don’t recycle cardboard. He talked about the reason and the estimated timeline of this restriction.
He said the city would like to put up more cardboard collection sites, but some people are placing garbage into cardboard only dumpsters.
The city has three recycling centers, one located on east main and 12th Avenue southeast, another in the W.E. Osmon fieldhouse parking lot north of Lokken stadium and a third in the parking lot of Handy Home and Hardware on west main in Valley City. The full interview is below.
Erickson also said the city is no longer accepting television sets at the transfer station in Valley City. He said it’s a state law.
He talked about the location of the household hazardous waste site in Fargo and that it’s open to Valley City residents.
Erickson talked about these changes during the regular city commission meeting on Tuesday, March 1st. The full interview is below.
