STRASBURG, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking public comment regarding environmental assessment for sewer improvements in Strasburg.

The proposed project entails upgrading the existing sewage treatment to waste water treatment lagoons.

The purpose of the proposed action is to upgrade the existing sewage treatment system to meet the current North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality, and Environmental Protection Agency standards for the treatment of raw wastewater.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ funding for this project is authorized under Section 594 of the 1999 Water Resources Development Act, as amended. This authority allows USACE to participate in projects for wastewater treatment, water supply, and related facilities in North Dakota. Design and construction assistance is only provided for projects that are owned by public entities, and project costs are shared 75% federal contribution and 25% non-federal contribution.

Comments must be postmarked or received no later than March 30th, 2022.
