JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An idea for a campground on the Island at the Jamestown Reservoir was brought to the Stutsman County Park Board Tuesday.
Daren Peterka with Interstate Engineering brought forth a preliminary design to add camping to the island.
He added they included three pricing breakdowns for what would need to happen to make it possible.
A bridge replacement would also be needed, which would use a box culvert. Peterka says this would raise the roadway to a similar elevation and be cheaper than building a bridge.
The final pricing provided would be overlay of asphalt to repair for bridge replacement.
No final decision was made.
County Park Board Superintendent Karl Bergh informed the commission they had also been approved for a grant for the Marina Boat Ramp and Pipestem Dock.
