ELIMINATION GAME: CARRINGTON 65, BARNES COUNTY NORTH 41
The #3 seeded Cardinals bounced back from their Saturday afternoon loss to Griggs-Midkota with a win over Barnes County North. Carrington got in front 20-8 after the first quarter and started the second quarter on an 8-0 to end the Bison’s season and move onto a regional qualifier on Tuesday. Carrington was led in scoring by Lucas Hendrickson who had 17 points, Hudson Schmitz finished with 16 points, and Grady Shipman had 10. The Cardinals shot 70% from the field in the first half of play. Barnes County North’s season comes to a close at 2-19 overall, and they were led by Oliver Hanson who ended the night with 10 points.
SEMIFINAL: ELLENDALE 52, EDGELEY-KULM-MONTPELIER 38
In the second game, #1 seeded Ellendale was able to win their semifinal coming off their first round bye over the fourth-seeded Rebels. Scott Wagner dominated the paint scoring 20 points and grabbing 17 rebounds shooting 8/9 from the floor. Riley Thorpe finished with 18 points shooting 6/13 on the day. For the Rebels, nobody finished with double-digit scoring. Jacob Nitschke led the way in scoring shooting 2/9 from the floor and 5/6 from the free throw line. EKM shot just 25.5% as a team and went 4/31 from the beyond the arc.
SEMIFINAL: LAMOURE-LITCHVILLE-MARION 52, GRIGGS-MIDKOTA 38
In the second semifinal, the Loboes continued their struggles from beyond the arc, but their play inside the arc was too much for the Titans. Corban Potts led all scorers with 15 points and grabbed six rebounds as well shooting 5/12 from the floor. Max Musland led the team in rebounding with seven in total with his 12 points shooting 5/8 from the floor. Charlie Bowman also scored ten points as well. Carter Spitzer made his first five shots and ended up with 13 points leading the way for the Titans. Jaxon Gronneberg also added 12 points.
