VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liners gymnastics team completed their state tournament that was held in Dickinson over the weekend. Valley City left the competition leaving quite the impression. Karina Olson became the first ever state champion in VCHS history. Olson had an incredible day. She scored 9.233 in Vault, 9.467 in Bars, 9.100 in Beam, and 9.817 for the Floor. Her all-around average on the day was 37.617.

Abbey Thornton also with an impressive day for the Hi-Liners, she set a new VCHS school record in All-Around with a score of 38.250. Thornton’s score were, 9.683 in Vault, 9.650 for Bars, 9.400 for Beam, and 9.517 for Floor.

Grace Undem had a couple of personal bests on the day. She set her own personal best for Floor (9.367) and Beam (9.100). Undem also had a personal best in All-Around with a score of 35.583.

Maddie Wendel was another Hi-Liner who left Dickinson setting a new personal record. Wendel setting a new personal best in All-Around with a score of 34.600. She also set a new career best on beam with a score of 8.800.
