Girls: West Fargo 72 Valley City 46

The Packers came out on this night not caring that they were the road team as West Fargo quickly jumped out to a 17-0 lead. Mirilly Simon had a lot to do with that for the Packers as she went 6-6 from the field in the first half and had 12 points. The Hi-Liners would get their first points when Dylann Diegel would make a 3-pointer. The Packers lead at the break 40-17. Second half started out great for the Hi-Liners as they went on a 9-0 run to close the gap to 40-26. However, West Fargo would put a stop to the Valley City momentum and call a time out. After the stoppage, the Packers would rattle off the games next 7-points. Taylor Van Winkle of West Fargo, would have a strong second half as she had 9 of her 15 points in the second, including going 9-10 at the free throw line. West Fargo cruises to the road win in Valley City, 72-46.

Boys: West Fargo 84 Valley City 23

Just like the girls game, the West Fargo Packers opened up the game by going on a 17-0 run. Hi-Liners coach Alex Quist tried calling a couple of time outs but could only do so much. The Packers would be aggressive all evening long. Setting the tone for West Fargo was Parker Nelson, who finished with 10-points. Nelson would immediately pressure any Hi-Liner as they tried to bring the ball up the court. From a shooting perspective, Jaden Grepsrud would put on a show beyond the arc. Grepsrud would make his first 5, three point attempts of the ball game. He would end the night 5-7 beyond the arc and have a team high 19-points. Another Packer who played a solid game was Foday Sheriff. The Senior for West Fargo would finish with 18-points, and he made a lot of buckets look easy. On the Hi-Liners side of things, Cal Burchill lead the way with 9-points. Burchill would play hard all night no matter the score. Zach Sykora would add in 7-points in the game as well. The boys West Fargo Packers team completes the Hi-Liner sweep on Thursday night with the 84-23 win.

Next up for both Hi-Liner teams will be the play-in games on Saturday. As of now the opponents, times, and locations are all still TBD. We will update on NewsDakota.com when those details become available.
