SIOUX CITY, IA. (jimmiepride.com) – For the second straight week, Austin Jacob (SO/Houston, Texas) and Samuel Jackman (JR/St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba) of the sixth-ranked University of Jamestown men’s volleyball team have been recognized as GPAC Setter and Defender of the Week.
Jacob takes Setter of the Week accolades for the third straight week after he averaged 9.25 assists per set in helping the Jimmies to a 1-1 record last week. Jacob had 45 assists in a five-set loss to top-ranked Grand View (Iowa) on the road, and had 29 assists in a sweep of Dordt (Iowa). For the week Jacob also added six blocks, five digs, three kills and three aces.
Jackman was named Defender of the Week as he recorded 17 digs and four blocks. On the offensive side, Jackman had 36 kills.
The Jimmies are 7-2 overall and 5-0 in the conference and will host Central Christian College on Thursday and Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday.
