VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liners boys basketball team were on the road on Saturday looking for that first win as they took on Grand Forks Red River. Valley City would hold a 7-point lead going into halftime, with their sites set on their first victory of the season. Unfortunately for the Hi-Liners a 58-point second half from Grand Forks Red River would give the home team the win, 86-70. On this day, the Hi-Liners were lead by Cal Burchill who had an excellent afternoon with 22-points and 5 rebounds. Zach Sykora also would also have 22-points and 5 rebounds in the game. Hi-Liners would also get 11-points from Andrew Bernston.
Hi-Liners will be on the road on Tuesday night when they will travel to take on West Fargo Sheyenne at 7:30PM. Valley City will look to get that first win on the season, and with the way Coach Alex Quist has been leading his team, you have to think the team is due this week to get that first win as they look to play their best basketball towards the end of the season.
