VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – City-County Health District will be assisting the ND Department of Health (NDDoH) with the distribution of at home test kits. City-County Health District has reached out to many local partners to assist in the distribution of these free test kits within Barnes County.
Several brands of tests may be available. Some brands are authorized for people 14 years and older and others are authorized for ages 2 and older. Any children under the age of 2 will still need to be tested at a community testing location or clinic. Please follow the instructions included with each test kit.
At this time, in Barnes County, the general public can obtain test kits from the following locations: City-County Health District, Valley City Fire Department and the Valley City Police Department. Test kits are being distributed around the state and locations will continue to be added in the weeks ahead. Locations for available home test kits can be found on the NDDoH website at www.health.nd.gov/covidtesting. It is recommended that citizens pick up tests at the distribution sites, with a start of two tests per household member. One individual can pick up enough tests for everyone in their household.
Test kits will also be available at our community test site at 140 4th St SW, The Valley City Rec Center on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:30pm-2:30pm. The test site will not be open on February 21, 2022 due to the President’s Day holiday.
Individuals do not need to report their at-home test results to NDDoH, as the department cannot validate results from home testing kits. Those who need a validated result or a letter for official purposes should seek testing from a health care provider or from a local public health testing site.
