SIOUX CITY, Iowa (jimmiepride.com)– Austin Jacob (SO/Houston, Texas) and Samuel Jackman (JR/St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba) from the University of Jamestown men’s volleyball team were recognized by the conference office as GPAC Setter and Defender of the Week Wednesday.

Jacob repeated as GPAC Setter of the Week as he averaged 10.5 assists per set in a pair of wins last week. He had 35 assists in a sweep of Ottawa (Kan.) and 28 in another sweep over Morningside (Iowa). He also added nine digs, five kills and an ace.

Jackman was selected as GPAC Defender of the Week after he finished a pair of matches last week with13 digs and three blocks. He also chipped in with four service aces and 21 kills.

The Jimmies, ranked sixth in the latest NAIA Coaches’ Top 15 Poll, are on the road for two matches this weekend. UJ takes on Dordt (Iowa) Thursday at 7 p.m., then face No. 1 Grand View (Iowa) University Friday at 7 p.m.
