JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission unanimously approved tourism funding requests for several projects Tuesday.

Jamestown Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund informed the commission that this request is typically made as part of the historical mill levy.

The commission approved a request to fund projects at Frontier Village, Stutsman County Museum, and the Jamestown Arts Center.

The Commission also approved to extend an agreement for joint library services between the county and city of Jamestown. Commission Chair Mark Klose reported he has been working closely with Mayor Dwaine Heinrich on the agreement.

A two-year notice would need to be given if the county were to cease joint services.

Klose says the one year would give the city and county an opportunity to “iron out” the agreement.

The commission also unanimously approved the appointment of Maureen McGilvrey as the next Stutsman County treasurer/recorder.
