VALLEY CITY, N.D. (VCSUAthletics.com) – Valley City State University senior Kevin Schramm has been named the NSAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after helping the Vikings to a pair of road victories this past weekend.
North Star Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week
Kevin Schramm – Valley City State (N.D.) – 6’6″ – Senior – forward – Roseville, Minn. – Schramm averaged 19.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as Valley City State (N.D.) had a 2-0 road record last weekend. He scored 22 points on his 8-of-13 field goals and grabbed six rebounds in 81-73 victory over Bellevue (Neb.). He followed up with 17 points and five rebounds in 69-65 come-from-behind victory at Dakota State (S.D.). For the week, Schramm was 13-of-23 field goals (56.5 percent), 5-of-9 from the 3-point arc, and 8-of-12 at the free-throw line. He totaled 39 points and 11 rebounds.

Viterbo (Wis.) split their two home North Star Athletic Association contests last weekend. The V-Hawks held off Mayville State (N.D.) by the score of 67-65 on Feb. 11. Presentation (S.D.) defeated Viterbo 76-68 on Feb. 12. VU is 14-12 overall record and 8-6 record in the league.
The Saints held on to defeat Waldorf (Iowa) by the score of 54-51 on Feb. 11. PC extended its winning streak to four games, improving their overall record to 13-13 and 6-7 NSAA conference record. MSU defeated the Warriors by the score of 90-69 on Feb. 12. Mayville State is 15-9 overall record and 7-6 NSAA conference record, while Waldorf is 5-21 overall record and 3-10 record in the league.
Valley City State (N.D.) earned a pair of victories on the road last weekend. The Vikings defeated Bellevue (Neb.) 81-73 on Feb. 11, followed by 69-65 come-from-behind victory at Dakota State (S.D.) on Feb. 12. VCSU lifted their overall record to 16-10 and 7-6 NSAA conference record.
Dakota State defeated Dickinson State (N.D.) 68-66 in home overtime thriller on Feb. 11. The Bruins rolled past the Blue Hawks 79-48 on Feb. 12. Bellevue is 16-12 overall record and 8-5 NSAA conference record. Dakota State is 12-16 overall record and 7-6 record in the league. Dickinson State is 9-18 overall record and 6-7 NSAA conference record.
Looking Ahead This Week
The North Star Athletic Association regular season wraps up this Friday evening with traveling partners playing each other. Bellevue (Neb.) hosts Dakota State (S.D.), while Viterbo (Wis.) welcomes Waldorf (Iowa). Dickinson State (N.D.) stays on the road at Valley City State (N.D.), while Presentation (S.D.) travels to Mayville State (N.D.).
