OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Lisbon’s first half scoring didn’t allow Oakes to ever get in the game as the Broncos dominate the Tornadoes by a final score of 73-41 on Tuesday night.

Lisbon sophomore guard Jayden Bittner put on an absolute clinic in the first quarter to not let Oakes ever get in this one. In the first eight minutes of the contest, he put up 16 points on 5-7 shooting from beyond the arc. He continued to light it up in the second quarter as he racked up 24 first half points. As for Oakes’ offense, they couldn’t ever get into a rhythm. While they watched the Broncos put on a show from deep, they made just one three-pointer in the first half to trail going into the break by a score of 50-17.

Lisbon let off the gas a bit in the second half, but they didn’t need to shoot nearly as well as they did in the first half to hold off Oakes on Tuesday night. The Broncos were still able to outscore Oakes in the second half 29-24. Bittner stayed in the game trying to surpass the 30-point mark, but couldn’t quite get there with the running clock in the fourth quarter. The Lisbon sophomore finished with 29 points on 10-15 shooting and going 8-12 from deep. Leading the way in scoring for Oakes was sophomore point guard Trey Skoglund who finished with 11 points. Junior small forward Xavier Vossler also scored ten points in the loss.

Oakes will try to rebound on senior night against Linton/HMB on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. The Tornadoes fall to 7-10 on the regular season.
