BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown nearly overcame a 22 point second-half deficit on Tuesday night but ran out of gas late as the Blue Jays fell 65-56 to Bismarck Legacy.

Ryan Larson helped keep the Blue Jays in the game during the first half by putting up 12 points as Jamestown trailed 38-27 at the break. In the second half, Legacy jumped in front by 22 before Caydann Cox caught fire, hitting four consecutive threes and helping Jamestown get back within two. Down the stretch, Legacy was able to get some big stops and force turnovers to preserve the victory.

Cox was the leading scorer for the Jays, finishing with 18 points. Larson was the only other Jamestown player to reach double figures as he scored 16. Underneath, Luke Van Berkom snagged 13 rebounds to go along with his five points.

Jamestown falls to 7-11 on the year and 6-11 in the WDA. The Jays are positioned currently as the #8 seed in the West Region and will face 0-18 Watford City on the road Saturday.
