JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown boys hockey team will play for its first conference title in 27 years on Friday night thanks to a 3-0 victory over Williston Thursday night in the Blue Jays final home of the season at Wilson Arena.
The usual suspects were at it again as Junior Nolan Nenow scored two goals, his 24th and 25th of the season, and Senior Hunter Nelson knocked in his 16th of the season.
Senior Goalie Brode Hillstrom posted his second consecutive shutout with 16 saves as the Jays outshot the Coyotes 42-16.
Jamestown has won 10 straight West Region games and is 12-1 in its last 13 games.
The Blue Jays travel to the capital city Friday night to battle the Bismarck Demons. Jamestown is playing for its first conference title since the 1994-95 season.
Head coach Matt Stockert is proud of his team “This is exciting. We have a solid team and we have worked hard to be in this position.”
The Jays are 15-4-1 overall and 13-2-1 in the West. One of those two losses came to Bismarck back on December 9th at Wilson Arena 4-3.
