KULM, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals pick up an important District 5 victory over the Rebels of Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier 58-49. Carrington improves to 3-3 in D5 and 8-8 overall, EKM drops to 3-3 in D5 and 11-6 overall.
The Cardinals were down 13-6 in the first quarter, but outscored the Rebels 8-0 to close out the quarter and take a 14-13 lead and never looked back, leading at one point by 12 late in the fourth quarter. Lucas Hendrickson led the way with 27 points for the Cardinals, EKM was led by Senior Adam Nitschke with 16, Brayden Kinzler added 13.
With the win, Carrington will be the three seed in the upcoming district 5 tourney in two weeks in Jamestown, EKM will be the four seed.
