JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School boys basketball team struggled to shoot with consistency on Tuesday night at home as the Blue Jays fell 71-54 to #3 Bismarck Century.
The Jays trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half before cutting the Patriot lead to 35-28 going into the halftime break. Jamestown failed to hit a three point shot in the first 18 minutes, making 13 shots and going 2-2 at the charity stripe. In the second half, Jamestown started off strong, going on an 11-3 run early to cut the Century lead to a single point. Then, the Patriots pulled away for good behind strong performances from Anthony Doppler, Connor Trahan, and Ryan Erickson.
Jamestown was led in scoring by senior Adam Kallenbach who put up 17 points, including 12 in the first half. Senior Devin Beach had a nice game for the Blue Jays, posting 14 points and grabbing five rebounds. Underneath, Luke Van Berkom ended the night with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Jamestown falls to 6-9 overall on the year and 5-9 in the WDA standings. For the Blue Jays, a tough week of games continues on Thursday night at home when they square off with #1 Minot at 7:30 pm.
