JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James River Valley Library System (JRVLS) will be seeking public input regarding spaces and future plans for both local libraries.

A public meeting has been set for Thursday, February 17th at Alfred Dickey Public Library from 6 to 8 PM.

Joe Rector is the Director for the JRVLS.

Rector says JLG Architects will be conducting a space needs study to explore how much space the libraries will need moving forward. At this time, Rector says they’re running out of space and would like the public to give them information on how they should proceed.

He stressed it’s the “community’s library” and it’s important they have input on that.

Rector also reports:

-A record number of items were collected through the Mitten Tree with 166 items donated to area charities.

-Food for Fines continues through the first week of February

-Friends of the Library are continuing to raise money for projects and are holding a membership drive to encourage others to join them.

-The libraries are open to the public at this time and continue to hold after school programing along with adult and children programming.
