BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jay boys hockey team kept their conference title hopes alive with a 5-2 victory at Bismarck Century Thursday night.

After a scoreless first period, Jamestown snapped in four goals in the second period and never looked back.

Senior Hunter Nelson scored two in the second and got an empty netter to finish off his hat trick. Nelson has scored 14 goals this season.

Junior Gavin Gerhardt smacked in his 3rd of the season and Junior Jarrett Zalumskis blasted home his 4th of the year.

Jamestown was outshot 37-26 and received a big game from Senior Brode Hillstrom with 35 saves.

The Jays are now 13-4 on the season and tied Minot for first in the West Region. Jamestown is chasing its first conference title in boys hockey since 1995.

Next up is a non-conference game with West Fargo Saturday afternoon at 3:30 at Wilson Arena.
