JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Mayor Dwaine Heinrich is denying allegations made that he sexually assaulted someone at a local bar Saturday, January 29th.

In a statement made to NewsDakota, Mayor Heinrich says the allegations made against him are false.

Heinrich says he has lived in North Dakota since 1978, worked with many at his job, in volunteer organizations, service clubs, and fraternal clubs.

The allegations follow an interaction Mayor Heinrich had with an individual at the Office Bar at around 7:30 PM Saturday. He says he was there to visit a friend when he was approached..

Heinrich added there were other patrons in the bar who witnessed the exchange.

Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger confirms there was a report made on the incident which they have classified as a “disorderly conduct” call. Chief Edinger says the investigation has been turned over to the North Dakota Attorney General’s office and the BCI for further investigation.
