JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Mason Walters put up 37 points and 16 rebounds on Saturday afternoon in Newman Arena as the Jimmies snapped a three game home losing streak with an 85-74 win against Northwestern.

Red Raider big man Alex Van Kalsbeek picked up two early personal fouls which allowed Jamestown to take a 42-33 lead into the halftime break. In the final 20 minutes, the Jimmies got some help off the bench to preserve their lead and snap a four game losing streak to Northwestern.
Walters was incredible on Saturday, shooting 7-14 from long range and collecting 16 rebounds on the way to his 14th double-double of the season. Will Cordes had another nice game, scoring 20 points, including 14 in the first half. Devon Schultz provided good help on both sides of the ball, scoring six points and snagging four rebounds. On offense, Jamestown only committed four turnovers and outrebounded the Red Raiders on the offensive glass 10 to five.
UJ improves their overall standing to 19-6 on the year, moving to 9-6 in the GPAC. The Jimmies host Midland next Saturday at home, but will first travel to Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday. Tipoff against the Tigers is set for 7:45 pm.
